The traveling buddy has arrived, lets go for a river cruise. It’s nice to sit back and let the sites come to you for a change. I want to wear my beanie, Jane is horrified as she thinks it is good weather for getting a tan, I judge it was just warm enough to go without. It’s a bit hard to juggle the audio guide and a camera, but I manage to shoot about 100 different photos. The architecture of Berlin is so varied along the river, from the ultra modern government building for parliament workers that the locals call the washing machine to baroque statue of St George.
Next we walk up towards Alex, the TV tower looms from every direction its bright and sunny and all the tourists are happy. We make it to Alex and Jane is already obsessed with Buddy Bears that are everywhere. They are statues painted with all kinds of designs dotted around the city. I think she would take one home if she could.
Alex awaits and the shops. The rumours are true most of the people on the streets of Berlin do dress funky. Can we find anything to funk up our wardrobe? Jane sees a onesie in a very fashionable mens shop for Stephen and asks me, ‘How far do you want to take the funk?’ maybe not that far. We both have some purchases to carry back to base.
Someone who got up very early to get here is sleeping very soundly now….zzzz. My turn to hit the sack as well. Night all.

  1. Tell Jane that if she manages to get a bear can she carry one for Hamish too? He asked if they were real and thought they were cool. Looks like amazing weather

    1. Will do, still have a bit of room left in my suitcase! Weather is crazy here, hot, cold and windy all at the same time.
