Today Handsome Harry, Jane’s 11 year old
nephew joins us on the tourist trail. Harry and I do some planning whilst Jane
is getting ready. Do we have a surprise in store for her, we found a great walk
to do this afternoon.
First stop is Wellington Arch and we climb
to the top, but wait there’s more. A Stonehenge exhibition with the actual
points from the Amesbury Archer one of the biggest archeological finds ever is
here and then as if on cue the horse guards in all the finery march through the
arch.
Now its time to explore Hyde Park we start
with the Elizabeth Gates, the wander along the paths and meet our second
Schnauzer. It’s time to sit by the lake and have lunch in Serpentine café.
What would an excursion be without photo
opportunities, so then we snap trees, deck chairs, duck, geese anything that
moves. Harry is very patient though all of this. Then Harry somehow finds a
Japanese girl to play tennis with.
After a long walk we reach Marble Arch which
today has a special event with six Lamborghinis on display. From old to new
they keep everyone enthralled and the security guards busy trying to stop
people from touching them.
The afternoon event was Seven Noses of
Soho. (see separate post)
Harry after finding the most noses and
winning the bet to chose where we go for dinner and selected Maxwell’s Bar andGrill for dinner so we could see his Aunty Alison. Unfortunately Alison was not
working but we all had great food and then decorated the paper placemats with
drawings of Lamborghinis at Marble Arch.
To top it all off we returned home and then
decide to have a tea party. Jane brought out the best china, scones, jam and
clotted cream. We sat around
drinking tea and reliving a magical day.
Thanks Harry for a great day out!
