Funky shoes |
Fortnum & Mason |
Old worlde, inside Liberty |
A few more shopping bags |
Now after so much excitement you think it
would be time for a cup of tea and a lie down. But not with my expert tour guide,
Jane. Off to the shops we went. We glide by the Ritz and arrive at the Burlington
Arcade with the most amazing shops. All kinds of embroidered vests, funky
handmade shoes and artwork for sale. I have never seen such unique creations.
The first big store is Fortnum and Mason a decadent
store with a ground floor full of chocolates, candies and other delectable’s.
Short detour to the Royal Academy of Arts
to discuss the scandals that have occurred here over the years. Past the statue
of Eros surrounded by crowds, through Carnaby Street and onto Liberty.
Liberty is having a sale, it’s four floors are
heaving with shoppers and we go into the breach and check out every floor. The
staircase is a piece of artwork itself, dark oak and commanding. We find a few
things to tempt our wallets and then move onto collecting cards with Liberty
prints to make collages. Maybe one with Harry and a heart around him?
Reluctantly we head home exhausted but then
perk up when we watch the whole Trooping of the Colour again on BBC1.
